Just 3 months ago, at my high school graduation, I was like "Fuck yes, I'm finally leaving this school." Then the principal announced shit tons of new plans for the school, like a new outdoor area (non-existent for NYC schools), new technology, etc. And this was announced right after the brand new library opened, with about 195610651 Macs and books and stuff.

Same thing happened to me during undergrad. They upgraded the computer labs after I graduated.
